# Update Yealink firmware

> Upgrade the firmware on a Yealink SIP desk phone from its web interface using the phone's IP address.

Yealink releases firmware updates to add features and fix bugs. You can apply an update from the phone's built-in web interface, which you reach through the phone's IP address on your network.

## Before you begin

* Download the latest firmware for your model from the [Yealink support site](https://support.yealink.com/) and unzip it to a local folder.
* Make sure your computer is on the same network as the phone.

## Apply the update

  <Step title="Find the phone's IP address">
    Press the **OK** button on the phone's keypad to display its IPv4 address.

  <Step title="Open the web interface">
    In a web browser, enter the phone's IP address in the address bar and press Enter.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Enter the username and password. Both are `admin` by default.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the firmware file">
    Go to **Settings** > **Upgrade**, click **Browse**, and select the firmware file you downloaded.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start the upgrade">
    Click **Upgrade**, then confirm to continue. The update takes about 5 minutes.

  Do not unplug or power cycle the phone while the firmware is upgrading. Interrupting the update can leave the phone unusable.
